When you are running one of Europe's biggest infrastructure construction projects, the complexity of hiring could become an overly-complex headache. But with Comensura providing a managed service, the reality is very different.
One of the UK’s biggest funded infrastructure construction projects, expected to run for at least 15 years and employing more than 20,000 people.
The organisation had a broad preferred supplier list (PSL) in place with 30 separate agencies. Procuring new suppliers was proving difficult, and contract arrangements and margins differed hugely across suppliers. The workforce sourcing process was inconsistent and the organisation was keen to look at different ways to meet its own targets for ethical and inclusive recruitment.
Comensura is on board as a managed service provider (MSP) for temporary, interim and permanent vacancies. A more focused, tiered supply chain of 42 agencies is in place, with efficiency throughout the new processes for hiring high-calibre individuals that the customer’s demanding work requires.
First year cost savings of $550k (3% of $18.3M) are just part of the picture. The customer also has a fairer, more transparent recruitment environment in place. Processes are simpler for everyone, from line managers hiring workers to the finance team processing invoices.
