Comensura receives Silver Award for its support of the Armed Forces

Comensura has been awarded the Ministry of Defence (MoD) Employer Recognition Scheme (ERS) Silver Award, we’re delighted to announce.

The MoD awards annual bronze, silver, and gold ERS awards to employers that support defence and the armed forces community, and that align their values with the Armed Forces Covenant. We first signed the Armed Forces Covenant, a pledge to treat the armed forces and their families with fairness and respect in the society they serve, in 2019.

By receiving this award, we’ve demonstrated that we have armed forces-friendly policies and practices, and that we employ at least one member of the armed forces community - as well as meeting a number of other strict criteria.

Hoa Ngo, Comensura’s UK Managing Director, commented on the award:

“To have been recognised with the silver ERS award is a fantastic achievement for us in such a short space of time. Our commitment to ensuring that no serving personnel, either regular or reservist, veterans or military families are disadvantaged in the world of work goes hand in hand with our core values.

“We help, enable, and empower businesses to find smarter ways to solve their complex staffing challenges - and equality, diversity and inclusivity are absolutely core to this approach. I'm delighted that we've received this recognition, which will further enhance and strengthen our commitment.”

Andrew Banfield, Comensura’s Head of Service and a serving Army Reservist, said:

“I’ve been a serving soldier in the Army Reserve for 11 years and was awarded the Volunteer Reserve Service Medal in December 2020 to commemorate 10 years of service. For 10 of these 11 years of service, I’ve been employed by Comensura - most recently as the company’s Head of Service, with responsibility for a team of 10 staff who oversee service delivery to around 50 local authority customers.

“Comensura has been incredibly supportive in allowing me to complete the duties of my military role, with senior leaders recognising that the blend of civilian and military experience allows for growth of knowledge that helps me be better at both roles.”
